U R Awesome Inc. is a Non-Profit Organization (Awaiting Status) committed to spreading love, compassion and goodwill by At U R Awesome Inc, our mission is to spread love, compassion by empowering people around the world to improve their lives. One of our initiatives involves U R Awesome t-shirts, each bearing their own positive messages. We strongly believe that spreading love brings peace. Even the smallest positive message can brighten someone’s day. Using a ‘one-two business model,’ every shirt sold provides a shirt for someone in need. Our “Great Give Away Clothing Drive” also rewards any person who donates five or more articles of clothing with a U R Awesome t-shirt; And since every shirt bears a positive message on the front, the more shirts we sell the more positivity goes out into the world!
Our company was founded by Kemy Joseph (Mr. Awesome) – a senior at the University of Miami. Kemy started wearing signs on his chest on September 9th 2008 as a way to brighten up the lives of others. On June 25th 2009 he started creating a new sign everyday making it his goal to not reuse any phrases or signs for at least a year. Today he has more than a hundred different signs and has been wearing signs for over a year!
After being recognized by the school and local newspaper for a year of spreading positivity, he began thinking of how to take his mission to the next level. He thought hard but nothing came to him until he decided to combine all of his passions in to a non-profit that focused on helping people discover their potential while helping others and improving the world as a whole. In October 2009 he founded U R Awesome Incorporated.
Kemy is really giving his all to this company. He used all the funds in his saving account plus whatever he could afford on his credit cards to embark on this endeavor. He even purchased the first thousand U R Awesome Shirts to give away at the University of Miami during The Great Give Away Clothing Drive from Oct 28th to Nov 12th. Anyone who contributed 5 articles or more of clothing was given a Free U R Awesome Shirt as a Thank you. His goal was to collect 10,00 articles of clothing to give out to impoverished Miami Dade residents on November 14th, the Saturday after World Kindness Day.
Thanks to the support of the community we were able to collect more 11,151 articles of clothing and gave them out to over 400 homeless citzens of Miami-Dade County!
